This past weekend saw the team head to Souderton, PA for the Univest GP. The Univest GP is one of the biggest races on the North American calendar with a UCI 2.2 ranking. Unlike the last few years, the organizers added on a team time trial on Friday to go along with the road race and criterium on Saturday and Sunday
Friday’s TTT consisted of two laps of a roughly 6km technical, hilly loop. Everyone rode really well in what was our first TTT together. To make things more interesting it rained all day. Fortunately, we were able to stay safe for Saturday’s road race.
The main event of the Univest GP is the 100mile road race on Saturday. Like last year it once again rained making the technical course even more challenging. Unfortunatly, Jamie, Dave and myself were caught up in a crash during the neutral start. Pete and Daniele made it through and were able to ride hard for the rest of the day.
Sunday was finally sunny. While Dave and I watched from the sidelines, Jamie, Pete and Daniele tackled the 2km course. Pete rode well and finished in the main pack. JetFuel even had some supporters at the race with a few fans sporting the JetFuel jersey. Universalsports.com still has highlights and coverage from the time trial and road race if anyone missed it live.
