Great Racing and a Podium Finish at the Toronto Crit

Steve Meyer took third place at the Toronto Criterium to a hometown crowd last week.  As usual the race got off to an aggressive start, mostly thanks the pace Kevin set, right off the first lap. Steve and Ed led a six man break, which had about 45 seconds on the field for most of [...]

    Bike the Bruce

by Ed Veal   May 16, 2011 (Wiarton, ON) Driving a few hours up to Owen Sound way is worth the trip when you have a well-run race like Bike the Bruce to attend. This was my first O-Cup of the year so I was very excited to get back home from the US Crits [...]

The Final Two Days of Racing at Speed Week

The final two days of racing at the USA Southeast Crit Series were in Charlotte, NC and Sandy Springs, GA.  These were certainly lower key events than the twilight criteriums during the week, but the racing was just as intense.  Both races were a switch from what we had become accustomed to during the week. For one, [...]

    Speed Week Day 5: Spartenberg

May 7, 2011 (Spartanburg, SC) – At first glance this looked like it was going to be the best course this entire week. The 4-corner circuit that was less than a kilometer featured a little rise and pavement that was flawless. The speed was incredible and it was easy to sit at the back in [...]

    Speed Week Day 4: Walterboro

May 5, 2011 (Walterboro, SC) – I did what I said I was going to do and was aggressive off the gun at Downtown Walterboro Criterium – round 4 of the US Crit Speedweek Series. I got caught on the front a few times and did a little too much work, but I did get [...]

    Speed Week Day 3: Beaufort

May 4, 2011 (Beaufort, South Carolina) – I think this race tested me more than the others. After going down a few times (3) at Roswell, it took a few laps to become fearless again. Beaufort is a fast narrow course and I found it very hard to move up. UnitedHealthcare was in full control [...]

Race Report from Day Two of Speed Week: Roswell

After the intensity of the night before, it was truly amazing that everyone was ready to go at it again.  A slight uphill slant on the back straight of this course in historic Roswell, GA coupled with some tight turns added a whole new dynamic to the race.  On the other hand, the pace was [...]
